Handle Late 19th C., Blade, Sheath and Beading Mid 20th C.

Total length with Sheath 27"

This sword gave new life to a wonderfully carved and well used 19th century horn hilt. The woven portion of the handle, usually in rattan, is beautifully executed with fish line. Two coins from 1920 are set in the pitch above the blade.  In a nod to the 19th C. handle, the brass inlaid blade is inspired by designs common to blades from the 19th century, again, the work of an accomplished artisan. Completing the package is a whittling knife holder and strap beaded in traditional Dayak designs.
