Ceramic Pot

Shipibo-Conibo Peoples

Mid. 20th C.

15" w x 7.5 h

Clay, Natural Pigments

With it's natural pigments and bold geometric design the effect is a striking, handsome pot.  This vessel was produced to contain food. The bowl would be settled in the earth up to its widest point to keep it's contents cool.

This is an excellent example from out extensive collection of Shipibo vessels.
